Ballpark
DEFINITION: Derived from the game of baseball, "ballpark" is used to describe a metaphoric for estimating. May also appear as "ballpark figure" or "ballpark estimate."
EXAMPLE: When the reporter interviewed the company president, he said, "I was told the total number of event attendees was 8,000. Is this number even in the ballpark?" |
