Keep Up with the Joneses
DEFINITION: To attempt to match or exceed another person's status or possessions. (The "Jones" family is presumably a neighbor.)
EXAMPLE: I know my old laptop is still working fine, but I bought another when I started this program to keep up with the Joneses. |
"Thank you for a splendid job. I found your services very helpful and timely, your feedback very supportive and encouraging. I know my final draft is significantly better because of your comments."
