Cross Your Fingers
DEFINITION: If you "cross your fingers," you are hoping for a certain (usually positive) outcome from a specific situation.

EXAMPLE: Karen's interview is today; please cross your fingers.
"Thank you for a splendid job. I found your services very helpful and timely, your feedback very supportive and encouraging. I know my final draft is significantly better because of your comments."
