Nest Egg
DEFINITION: A nest egg is an individual's or couple's retirement savings.

EXAMPLE: The Johnsons were devastated to learn that their hard-earned nest egg was lost in the recent investment scandal.
"I am currently writing several papers for conferences and journals, and I will soon need your help and support again. I am very satisfied with [my editor's] expertise and kind concern.
