Drop in the Bucket
DEFINITION: A small, insubstantial amount that would not be noticeable or make a difference.
EXAMPLE: Although I appreciate the hours you spent filing the office paperwork, it's only a drop in the bucket compared to what we have in storage. I really think we should hire a file clerk. |
"I just wanted to let you know I got my grade back on my essay and I received a 99! Thank you so much again for your help! I was astounded when I received my final grade back! I had to let you know how well I did!"
