One Up
DEFINITION: To have an advantage over another person.
EXAMPLE: I think my little sister has a complex about being the youngest - she's always trying to one up all of the siblings in the family. With that year of volunteer experience, Dorothy has one up on the other candidates. |
"[One of your editors] has become my new favorite person. I don't know how to express how much she has helped me with school!"
